Příkazy a prosby v nepřímé řeči
Chceme-li parafrázovat něčí rozkaz či prosbu, můžeme použít např. sloveso 'tell' s větou uvozenou "to": He told me to go away.

"That" a "should" však v těchto větách nutně stát nemusí, viz dva první příklady uvedené níže. Po "suggest", "recommend" a "propose" může rovněž následovat gerundium, takže pak už není uveden nepřímý předmět (komu je návrh učiněn) a celý návrh je potom zdvořilejší (viz čtvrtý a pátý příklad).
